Sunday 30th – Windsurf **** The Manor at Felixstowe – mainly
sunny.
Foil – 19.13 knot max, 17.42 knot ave., 13.31 knot hour, 17.17 knot
mile, 59.00 km., 12.97 knot alpha.
Starboard Freeride 150 and a Evolution Freeride foil with a Tushingham Bolt
6.50m.
Funny forecast today, a steady breeze of 15 to 20 knots starting westerly
the turning to the south so eve though the wid was still light I headed
down to Squiz Lane at The Manor end in Felixstowe at 9.30 as I would not
get a parking spot! The wind was west pretty off but the sun was out so I
set up my foil board with my 6.5 and hesded out, I did have two long flying
runs before the wind turned sideshore and droped really light and getting
back was a nightmare! I had my snack and was on the verge of packing up
when local Al Wizz came up from his caravan and said the wind was going to
build and he was about to set up his 130lt board with a 7.5. As if by magic
the wind came so I headed out as high water was getting near and was soon
up and flying doing really long runs out over 2.5 miles just brilliant, a
real bonus. In the end I was out over two hours sailing well over 30 miles
in the sunshine, it was harder after the tide turned but still did a top 17
downwind mile run and got back OK even if the wind went a little patchy so
it was time to call it a day after another cracker at The Manor. Another
breezy day tomorrow from the west so it will be Levington before my son Rob
drives up for a visit with the grandson Arlo:)
